Dear all our fellow African students at our university, as well as former African student alumni Happy Africa Day!

Celebration of the 62nd Africa Day at Ethiopian Defence University

The Ethiopian Defence University continues to play a vital role in advancing military diplomacy across the African continent by providing professional training to trainees from various African countries.

As part of its commitment to fostering Pan-African solidarity and cooperation, the university will commemorate the 62nd Africa Day with a series of meaningful and inclusive activities.

This year’s Africa Day celebration will be held at the university’s main campus, bringing together trainees from various African countries in a vibrant display of unity, shared identity, and mutual respect. The event will have a range of activities designed to strengthen the spirit of African brotherhood and solidarity.

The 62nd Africa Day will be celebrated on May 17, 2017 E.C. (May 25, 2025 G.C.) under the African Union’s theme:
“Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations.”
This theme highlights the ongoing pursuit of historical justice and equity for the African people and diaspora communities.

As the birthplace of the African Union and a founding member, Ethiopia holds a unique and honored position in African continental affairs. In recognition of this, the Ethiopian Defence University will mark this occasion with special significance, upholding the spirit of strong Pan-Africanism and unity among African peoples.

This celebration not only reflects our shared past but also reaffirms our collective commitment to a just, prosperous, and peaceful African future.
