Background

Currently,Ethiopian Defense University College of HealthSciences, research and community service lead by dean Level. The research and community service dean consists two teams: 1. Research and developmentteam, 2. Community and consultation service team, with the following major duties and responsibilities:

• To identify study areas that promote problem-solving, teaching, and learning.
• Coordination and management of the resources required to perform research.
• Facilitating and directing the process where problem-solving research suggestions are submitted, approved, and entered into research.
• Leading and managing various trainings to help researchers become more capable.
• Starting and overseeing proposals for research projects that benefit the community.
• To publish and disseminate the research outputs and findings of the institute in renowned proceedings and journals.
• Creates conducive environment for the enhancement of research culture
• Promotes innovation and creativity
• Receive applications of proposals nominate evaluators and public defense.
• Plays its role in organizing seminars, workshops, conferences open research days, technology festivals as required;
• Monitors proper implementation of research projects;
• Makes periodic evaluations of research projects and forward recommendation in case of major obstacles;
• Determine the Research studies are progressing as planned;
• Monitoring data collection to ensure safety of participants;
• Ensure that R&D projects strictly adhere to the ethical & safety standards as stipulate in the University statutory documents, sector and federal laws;
• Propose nominees for best researcher’s and or/ best research project awards;
• Ensure that duplication of efforts is avoided;
• Perform other assignments as given by the University research Council.
