Admission of Candidates from Army Units to Undergraduate Programs

Academic requirements:

Meet the required EHEEE score cut‐off point set by the Ministry of Education for eligibility to join a Higher education institution for degree program;

Must pass the entrance examination as necessary;

Must fulfill other criteria that arise from prevailing situations encountered from time to time;

Must not have been dismissed for academic or disciplinary reasons from any higher institution.

Attitude, behavior and other requirements:

Must produce a supportive letter from MoD or other relevant/entitled Defence units which indicate his/her performance report score 70% or above for job performance appraisal performed in the year/ half year of application;

Must have a possibility of serving a minimum of 2 years for each year of training after graduation and before retirement;

Age: not more than 30 years;

Free from all sort of addiction;

Abide by rules and regulations of the MoD and meet the level of army personality and ethical standards;

Willingness and ability to serve as an army member and sign service agreement with MoD;

Love military profession, the unit, the uniform, his/her superiors and subordinates.

Admission of Candidates from the General Public to Undergraduate Programs

Academic requirements:

Meet the required EHEEE score cut‐off point set by the Ministry of Education for eligibility to join a higher education institution for degree program;

Must pass the university entrance examination as necessary;

Must have not have been academic or disciplinary dismissal from any higher education institution;

Must fulfil other criteria that arise from prevailing situations encountered from time to time.

Other requirements

Must be willing to take basic military training and be member of the Army;

Must fulfil all the criterion set by MoD for military recruitment;

Pass the medical tests and screening (be physically and mentally fit for military service.);

Have demonstrable Commitment to the FDRE Constitution;

Have no criminal record of any sort;

Free from all kinds of addiction;

Nationality –Ethiopian;

Age 18-24;

Sex: Male or Female;

Marital status - Unmarried.

Never be the ex-member of police and military service;

Must produce a certificate of security clearance from relevant administration and/or police station;

Must have a possibility of serving a minimum of 2 years for each year of training after graduation excluding the years of training;
