
Quality Assurance Directorate is accountable to the University’s Commandant. The Directorate has two units, Input Relevance and Quality Assurance Unit and Process and Output Quality Assurance Unit, which are accountable to it. There are also College Quality Assurance Offices in three colleges, which are functionally answerable to the Directorate.
The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance Directorate is playing a leadership role in the coordination of university-wide efforts to ensure relevance and quality of academic programs, research, and service.

The following are some of the key responsibilities of the Directorate:
- Direct and coordinate the development and revision of policies, guidelines, and procedures that guide quality assurance and enhancement processes;
- Adapt standards for quality and relevance in compliance with the national standards and communicate the same to the University’s communities;
- Ensure that the appropriate inputs and processes are in place and that out puts that meets the minimum standards are produced;
- Liaise the University with ETA on matters of academic quality and relevance;
- Lead and coordinate the development of detailed evaluating criteria by the academic units,
- Devise both internal and external mechanisms for assuring and enhancing the quality and relevance of the institution in general and its academic units in particular;
- Ensure that internal quality assessments (institutional and/or program self-evaluation or audit) are in place on a continuous and periodic basis; etc.
