• Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management

The department of Procurement and Supply Chain Management is another academic department of the college of Resource Management. In the process of procurement and supply, the department offers courses that will arm its graduates with adequate knowledge to effectively and competently operate in the process of procuring and supplying logistics to the army. The department has professionals who are well educated in the field and are ready to impart their knowledge.

Objectives of the Program

General objective

The objective of the program is to produce competent and innovative logistics and Supply Chain Management professionals who can carry out the movement and storage of materials as they move through the supply chain

Specific objectives

The specific objectives of the program are to:

  • Produce qualified and competent graduates with up to date knowledge in the fields of logistics and Supplies Management;
  • Enable learners to develop production planning and scheduling;
  • Produce qualified individuals who can plan, design , and manage logistics and supply chain operations;
  • Produce graduates who can strategically coordinate activities of production, inventory, purchasing, transportation and warehousing within a particular company and across business within the supply chain;
  • To introduce major building blocks, functions, business process, performance metrics and decision making in supply chain network
  • To provide an insight into the role of Internet Technologies and  electronic commerce in supply chain management
  • Produce qualified professional military personnel specializing in Logistics and supplies management;
  • Enable learners to handle both domestic and foreign institutional and governmental purchasing;
  • Produce qualified professional who can effectively design transportation system;
  • Produce competent graduates who can manage store operations , design and implement inventory control system and able to lead negotiation process;
  • Conduct researches that aim at solving Defence related Procurement and Supplies Management problems;
  • Provide short-term trainings, consultancy and community services to the concerned stake holders, primarily for MoD.
